By accessing or using Riff Repeat, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our service.

About the Service

Riff Repeat is a music lesson viewing platform operated as a solo developer project. For questions or more information, please use our contact form.

Beta Service and Pricing

Riff Repeat is currently free to use while in beta. We reserve the right to introduce subscription pricing in the future. If we do, existing users will be notified in advance and given the option to continue using the service under the new pricing model or discontinue use.

User Accounts

To use Riff Repeat, you must:

  • Provide accurate and complete information when creating an account
  • Maintain the security of your password and account
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
  • Be responsible for all activity under your account

Age Requirements and Parental Consent

Children Under 13: If you are under 13 years of age, you must have parental or guardian consent to use Riff Repeat. By using this service as a minor, you represent that you have obtained such consent.

Teachers who register students under 13 are responsible for obtaining appropriate parental consent before creating accounts for those students.

Content Ownership and Rights

Your Content:

  • Teachers and students retain full ownership of all lesson videos, recordings, and other content they upload to Riff Repeat
  • You grant Riff Repeat a limited license to host, store, and display your content solely for the purpose of providing the service to you
  • You are responsible for ensuring you have the rights to upload any content you submit to the platform
  • You may not upload content that infringes on the intellectual property rights of others

Platform Content:

  • The Riff Repeat platform, including its design, features, and functionality, is owned by Riff Repeat and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws
  • You may not copy, modify, or create derivative works of the platform without permission

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the service for any illegal purpose or in violation of any laws
  • Upload content that is harmful, offensive, or violates the rights of others
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the service or other users' accounts
  • Interfere with or disrupt the service or servers
  • Use automated means (bots, scrapers, etc.) to access the service without permission
  • Transmit spam, viruses, or malicious code
  • Impersonate another person or entity
  • Share your account credentials with others
  • Use the service to harass, abuse, or harm another person

Service Termination

Our Rights:

Riff Repeat reserves the right to suspend or terminate your access to the service at any time, for any reason, with or without notice. This includes, but is not limited to, violations of these Terms of Use.

Your Rights:

You may request complete and permanent deletion of your account and associated data at any time by using our contact form. Upon deletion, your lesson videos and personal information will be permanently removed from our systems, except where we are legally required to retain certain information.

Disclaimer of Warranties

Important: Riff Repeat is provided "as-is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied.

We do not warrant that:

  • The service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free
  • The results obtained from using the service will be accurate or reliable
  • Any errors or defects will be corrected
  • The service will meet your specific requirements

You use the service at your own risk. We recommend maintaining backup copies of any important content.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Riff Repeat shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, or goodwill resulting from:

  • Your use or inability to use the service
  • Any unauthorized access to or use of our servers and/or any personal information stored therein
  • Any interruption or cessation of the service
  • Any bugs, viruses, or other harmful code that may be transmitted through the service
  • Any errors or omissions in any content or for any loss or damage incurred as a result of your use of any content posted or shared through the service

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Riff Repeat from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from:

  • Your use of the service
  • Your violation of these Terms of Use
  • Your violation of any rights of another person or entity
  • Content you upload to the service

Third-Party Services

Riff Repeat may integrate with third-party services (such as Zoom). Your use of these third-party services is subject to their own terms and conditions. We are not responsible for the actions or policies of third-party service providers.

Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms of Use at any time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the modified terms.
