What is Riff Repeat?

Riff Repeat is a music lesson platform that helps teachers and students organize, review, and maximize their lesson time with AI-powered summaries and transcripts.

Getting Started for Students

Logging In

Navigate to riffrepeat.com and sign in with the email and password provided by your teacher. If you've forgotten your password, use the "Forgot Password" link on the login page.

Viewing Your Lessons

  1. After logging in, click on Lessons in the navigation menu
  2. You'll see a grid of all your lessons, organized by date
  3. Click on any lesson card to view the full lesson

Using the Transcript and Summary

Each lesson page has three main sections:

  • Video Player: Watch your lesson recording
  • Summary & Transcript Tabs: Switch between AI-generated summary and full transcript
  • Bookmarks Sidebar: Quick access to moments you've saved
Pro Tip: Click on any timestamp in the transcript or summary to jump directly to that moment in the video!

Creating Bookmarks

  1. While watching a lesson, click the Bookmark button when you reach an important moment
  2. The system will save that timestamp along with the surrounding transcript text
  3. Access all your bookmarks from the Bookmarks sidebar or the Lessons page

Searching Lessons

Use the search feature on the Lessons page to:

  • Find lessons by date range
  • Search for specific topics or keywords in summaries and transcripts
  • Filter by content to quickly find what you need

Getting Started for Teachers

Managing Students

  1. Click on Students in the navigation menu
  2. Use the form to add new students by providing their name and email
  3. Students will receive login credentials to access their lessons
  4. Each student can only see lessons assigned to them

Uploading Lessons Manually

You can create lessons manually by providing:

  • Student selection
  • Lesson date
  • Video file (uploaded directly)
  • Optional: Summary and transcript (can be generated with AI)

Connecting Zoom Account

For automatic lesson imports from Zoom recordings, see our comprehensive Zoom Integration Guide.

Recommended Setup: Connect your Zoom account to automatically sync recordings and create lessons for matched students. This saves significant time and ensures no lessons are missed!

Viewing Recordings

After connecting Zoom, navigate to the Recordings page to:

  • See all synced Zoom recordings
  • View which students were matched to each recording
  • Manually create lessons from unmatched recordings
  • Check recording metadata (date, duration, participants)

Matching Recordings to Students

The system automatically creates lessons when:

  • A Zoom recording participant's email matches a student's email in your student list
  • For unmatched recordings, you can manually create lessons from the Recordings page
